The need for light in most areas of your home is a need and in case you are at a loss on where to put lamps or other lighting fixtures, here is something that may be flexible enough for you to handle. Called the Modular LED lighting design, these are lighting fixtures you can suspend on you ceiling or placed on a lamp’s base.
The object can live 2-dimensionally or the components can be rotated and conjoined creating a unique 3-D form. Talk about modern day home designing, this is one cool lighting idea that should give your pad a new form of enjoying the wise and modern way of living.

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Illumination Awards are in for 2010, and the lighting designs are truly magnificent. Here is a selection of photos from the winning lighting designs (feel free to comment below on which is your favorite!):

Izunome Tokyo: The Edwin F. Guth Memorial Award for Interior Lighting Design
I think my personal favorite is the Hard Rock Café, which received its award specifically for the guitar chandelier.
