The ideal home comes in different forms and types but this duplex situated at the penthouse of the Dietz Lantern Building in Tribeca, New York City is something that should be one of the dream-like pads one could ever hope for. And while it does come with 5 corner bedrooms and a lot of space to spare, it is capped off by a rooftop swimming pool.
The apartment is situated at the rooftop of the said building and comes with practically all the things one would ever dream of having in their home. “When I first applied for an allotment they told me it would be about seven years until I could get one and that I was 144 on the waiting–list. Eighteen months later I’m number 125 and the waiting–list is still seven years. It made me feel belligerent, and that’s how Garden Gorilla started.
“We are creating alternative allotments to ease demand. They won’t be in conventional spaces, but on scraps of land such as rooftops and the sides of roads – potatoes have very pretty flowers, so no one really notices if you put them in with the petunias.

Tasha Tudor was an author and illustrator of many books and gardener extraordinaire. Her beloved gardens and her home in Marlboro, Vermont are a beautiful memory of the woman who lived in a simpler way even in modern day. Tasha Tudor passed away a few years ago, but her children’s stories, garden books, and recipes remain.
Her Hummingbird Cake Recipe (which has some similarity to my favorite carrot cake) was one Southern Living’s most popular recipes of all time. (Proving that even Northerners can cook like Southerners right?). I thought of it because I have been seeing so many hummingbirds in my garden lately. I never saw hummingbirds in the early years of our garden but now, (I pat my self on the back), I am pleased to see that they have found my home welcoming.
